Global Call for AI Red Lines

As AI Safety Türkiye, we have signed the Global Call for AI Red Lines.
We believe that international dialogue and binding rules are essential for areas where artificial intelligence could cause the greatest harm to humanity and should never be used.

📌 What does this call (Global Call for AI Red Lines) advocate for?
Governments must establish clear and binding red lines for unacceptable risks. This will be the most urgent and feasible step to prevent dangerous uses of artificial intelligence. Cooperation on global risks is possible! Nuclear and biological weapons treaties have shown us this.

📌 What are these risks, and why are they so urgent?
Artificial intelligence capabilities are advancing at an unexpected pace, spanning many fields. Even today's models show a tendency to increase cybercrime and mislead users. According to experts, more advanced systems could lead to the development and misuse of biological weapons, compromise the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, and bring many unforeseen new risks.

📌 Should we halt AI development entirely?
No. On the contrary, to realize its benefits, we must prevent its risks. At AI Safety Türkiye, we want artificial intelligence to develop in a way that benefits all of humanity, to be productive in areas beyond our own capacity, and to make our lives much easier. We see this call as a significant step toward that goal.

📌 Who has signed?
Many thinkers, academics, politicians, business leaders, and more than 50 organizations have supported this initiative, including Nobel laureates Joseph Stiglitz, Daron Acemoğlu, and Jennifer Doudna; AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio; and inspirational author Yuval Noah Harari. They have raised their voices to make this a priority on the United Nations' agenda.

💡 So, what can you do?

It's easy to get lost in our country's busy agenda, but we must take the time to understand that artificial intelligence is different from all other technologies. The benefits and risks of this technology affect every single person in the world. Wherever and whoever you are, you have the right to demand that artificial intelligence be developed for your benefit. You must always remind yourself of this.
