AI Safety Accelerated Fellowship Programme
A four-week online programme announced for students and early-career professionals interested in AI governance.
AI will profoundly transform the world. We announced the AI Safety Accelerated Fellowship Programme to explore how we can help shape this transformation for the better and steer our careers in that direction.
Designed for students and early-career professionals interested in AI governance, the programme was scheduled to take place online from 7 to 28 July 2026.
Through carefully selected readings and structured discussions, we aimed to explore:
- Advances in the capabilities of frontier AI models,
- The risks these advances pose,
- Central debates in AI governance,
- Prominent policy and governance approaches around the world.
Our aim was not simply to share information, but to help participants understand the field’s most important questions, develop their own views and explore how they could contribute to work shaping the future of AI.
In the one-to-one meetings planned for the final week, we aimed to discuss career plans, opportunities to develop skills and routes into the field.
